Our team's expedition to World of Asphalt in Nashville, TN, proved to be an enlightening experience. With six of us in attendance, we delved into the world of asphalt paving, a departure from Lancaster's familiar landscape. Exploring Broadway for the first time added a unique dimension to our trip, exposing us to Nashville’s vibrant culture.

Another noteworthy aspect of the show was the AGG1 segment, which showcased equipment tailored to the aggregate community. Despite this diversion, we were impressed by the scale and innovation on display. Networking with fellow paving crews offered invaluable insights into industry practices from diverse regions. Encountering familiar faces like Lisa from the Graham Company added to the camaraderie of the event, reinforcing connections forged during previous interactions.

However, our primary objective was to immerse ourselves in the latest equipment and technology within the asphalt paving industry. While hands-on demonstrations were unavailable due to the indoor setting, thorough walk-arounds provided invaluable insights into the equipment’s overall and inner workings. The event left us thoroughly satisfied, from educational sessions on marketing techniques to detailed examinations of cutting-edge machinery. Engaging with manufacturer representatives allowed us to gain valuable insights into equipment ranging from lighting accessories to paving risers and beyond.

Several exhibitors caught our attention, particularly ShoulderMaster with its innovative skid loader attachments and LeeBoy with its versatile pavers. ShoulderMaster showcased a couple of skid loader-attached brooms and road wideners, both of which intrigued us with their functionality and potential for enhancing our paving operations. LeeBoy had a couple of pavers on display, including a smaller one that would work in pathway paving applications. The versatility and quality of their equipment left a lasting impression on us, sparking ideas for future projects and optimizations.

Conversations with Weiler representatives shed light on upcoming changes and enhancements to their product line, sparking our interest in a mid-sized grader for future applications. Additionally, it was greatly beneficial to see firsthand some of the changes that will be incorporated into the new paver we currently have on order.
